#138 - if the last girl cries then they'll win

so does jason castro WANT to be out? seriously, that was horrendous. but whatever, the only thing that matters now is david or david? i really liked little bro's stripped down versions of stand by me and love me tender...
but my critizism is that this was "rock 'n roll hall of fame week" and he gives us bongo drums and solo piano. i mean, i love the acoustic-ness of the bongo drums and solo piano, but this was rock 'n roll week! gotta blast it up a bit. oh well. not like anyone else did any good, except for david cook's second song.

but back to the title of the post... my prediction is that jason's out and syesha gets the sympathy vote. even though jason sucked ass i think that he's got some kinda fan base (whether they really like him or they like the fact that he's pro-mj or they're visitors to www.voteforthestoned.com, he gets votes) i still have him the edge in the jason vs. syesha battle. although how completely obvious is it that the producers of idol are telling ryan and the judges to do whatever they can to get jason out and continue hailing the praises of archuleta?

whatever, anyway, the point is that syesha cried, and did it pretty convincingly. that means she gets through. in japan there's an annual song festival with the popular guy singers against the popular girl singers and celebrity judges vote for either guys or girls at the end (of course this is japan so they're way less individualistic and kinda over-the-top conformist) and it's a huge deal. anyway, so the last singer of each group is supposed to be the best or oldest or most seasoned performer or whatever and they've got the weight of the entire gender on them (there's like TONS of performers and performances by the way, it's like 6 hours long) and so they've got tons of pressure (they're japanese, of course) so the last girl either cries out of sincerity, in which case the girls will win, or strains to squeeze out even one drop of eye fluid at all, in which case the girls will lose.

syesha managed to cry pretty sincerely (or at least they were able to play it up that way), in which case the top three will be david, david, and syesha.
