#41 - heroes and gladiators

so forget "lost" already, here's a show where stuff actually HAPPENS. haha, i admit, i was kinda down on "heroes" at the beginning of the series, i thought it was too x-men, then the characters were too "coincidentally" connected, and then that super long break between new episodes during which time about a ga-zillion commericals heralded "four more weeks until the heroes new show!" big whoop. remember when tv used to have a new show each week? i miss those days, save the reruns for summertime. oh, but they didn't even play reruns during that time, they played some other stupid crappy new shows to get people to watch them... man, don't you hate being manipulated by network tv?

anyway, now that the season's almost done, i can forgive the multiple and sometimes-irresponsible connections between all the characters, i guess they had to get everyone together somehow, and actually, since there are so many darn characters now, it's actually more refreshing when they bring back a familiar character (instead of someone completely new that we've never seen before and don't care about **ahem***lost***cough*cough**). and i guess there are those favorite super powers that anyone writing a superhero tv show has gotta say "i've always wanted to make someone who can walk through walls!" and now that they're back to one new show per week, i'm okay with it.

so, one more episode, you know where i'll be next monday...

speaking of heroes... guess what i've rediscovered on ESPN classic? do these guys look familiar?

haha, they've been showing american gladiators on tv again, woo hoo! i loved that show, my dream vacation was a trip to universal studios orlando to tour the studio and pretend i was a contestant (sans mullet) playing assault or atlasphere. man, good times. and how classic are those two up there? gold and nitro. they had the awesomest 80's names.

what i liked best about american gladiators i think was that the gladiators had all the advantage and they were supposed to win each event. kinda like iron chef and all those other japanese shows since the culture is all honorific and everything, the people running the game show are supposed to have all the control and the contestent has none. that's why it's so awesome when someone finally wins because they really aren't supposed too. american gladiators is the one exception to american game shows where that's true, every other game show is just a big sap-fest where the contestent has all the chances in the world. so when someone wins, sure it's fun because they win money or whatever, but it's no big thing to win a Q&A against a bunch of 5th graders (well, i'm sure there's much MORE wrong with that show, but i've never watched it so i wouldn't know). ahh, but for now i'll revel in american gladiators.. 7pm weeknights ESPN classic, be there or be square!

I deleted the comment because it had way too many typos.
so here we go, take 2:

ESPN = best network EVAR. i've been watching the gladiators. ppl looked funny back then.

Don't give up on Lost. It's still the best show on TV. i mean did you see what happened last week? My jaw dropped, literally.
Not only that, but i think tonight's the episode that will involve a "GAME-CHANGING" moment.
I stopped following Heroes, because it's not as original as Lost. There are few similarities with Watchmen, which i heard is being made into a movie.

I haven't seen you guys since forever.
I guess the only way i can start seeing you guys regularly is to save your heathen souls and bring you to church so that you may not suffer the fires of hell.

...
hahahaha
*sigh*

i'm tired.

i do feel sorry for you guys. i'm depriving y'all of me. i'll try to make things better and happier by seeing you guys more often. you've suffered long enough.

Tonight's Lost.
I can't wait.

ok, so perhaps things are finally happening on lost (well, they better since it's the last two episodes), i hope they blow up ben, he's annoying. and they better not have killed off locke, he's the only one that's actually still interesting... sigh, but i'll still watch regardless, they've got me hooked already.
