oops, forgot to do my top performances post... so here's a more uplifting look-back at the past season, there WERE actually pretty awesome (and awesomely bad) moments, here are my top 8 performances:
8. adam lambert - cryin'
okay, i'll give him this one, adam doing aerosmith, that's something i can handle

7. kris allen - falling slowly
this one i pick because it was so different from anything else all the other contestants were singing, it was like the little independent film that comes along and sweeps up all the award instead of the big-budget movies... that's kinda what kris was like

6. matt giraud - human nature
back with matt all calm and at the piano is where i liked him best, less justin timberlake and before he started trying to be the fray and marvin gaye and everyone else under the sun

5. danny gokey - hero
early on danny looked unstoppable huh? and for good reason, he was delivering solid stuff from the beginning... too bad he got too boring with all of it before long

how this guy ended up in the voting rounds i have no idea, but damn was it entertaining (especially when he started caressing the "american idol" sign)

i'd like to add Lambert's 'Mad World' and also Lambert's One and Allen's Heartless.
Allison.. iono, she was good but after a few times... i was tired of her...
as for the worst performances...
Lambert's ring of fire, wasn't that bad. it was just.. unique... and real, real, real different.
i believe danny's dream on was MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH worse. lol.

hmm... i agree with you on adam's "one" and definately on kris' "heartless" and would have even added kris' "what's going on" to that too (i really like that kind of just guitar/bongo/voice performance, much how i really like voice and solo piano performances), but i got kind of tired of making all those links after awhile, ha.
BUT OH MAN I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT DREAM ON! just the last blood-curdling note would have made him the top epic fail. haha, as for adam, the more i play that song back, the song itself wasn't as awful as the hideous faces he was making and the semi-provocative arm-movements... that was shudder inducing.
