yes that's right, it's back... punch out!! with TWO exclaimation points!! yes two exclaimation points are extremely necessary for this game (and this post) because how awesome was this game?!
remember glass joe? von kaiser? piston honda? don flamenco? king hippo? the great tiger? soda popinski? bald bull? mike tyson? oh well, no mike tyson, but how awesome was it? the music, the star punches, referee mario, the pink sweatsuit, the beeps that play when the words come out on the screen between rounds, and pressing select to restore your health once a match? fan-frickin'-tastic!
remember how you had to low punch bald bull on his third hop or get KO-ed? and, of course, no one will ever forget the king hippo strategy... i hope that all translates from "Mike Tyson's Punch-Out" (for nes) to "Punch-Out!!" for wii:
yup, that's right, punch-out is coming to wii, i already preordered it... this will be the first wii game that i've bought in awhile, and i'm kinda bummed that i didn't just wait until monday and buy it in the store... but it was $10 off at amazon.com on preorder plus free shipping, so i'll wait the extra week or so to get it in the mail.
in the meantime, i'm gonna dust off the old NES and play mike tyson's punch out for a refresher... also, this new wave of retro nintendo recently (which i'm totally loving) has been so awesome that i've already decided my halloween 2009 costume... i'm totally going as "little mac" this year. i'm gonna ebay the green boxing gloves, black boots, grab me some green shorts and a black tank and i'll be ready for the world circuit! it's on...
