#135 - ambiguity

how sad was that?? tell me that's not the saddest thing you've ever seen in the whole entire world. okay, so i've got a soft spot for pretty girls crying (just like ramiele), i liked brooke, but she was too much of a stylistic singer to really win, her voice was a little too weak to stay on the show until the end. still, she had some really good performances, my favorites were:

love is a battlefield -

let it be -

but back to people who are still in the competition... who would've thought that it'd be jason castro and syesha up for the last top 3 spot (i've already decided that the two davids will be in the finals)? seriously... what is it gonna take to get jason out of there? c'mon! he's weak! but then look at the audience that are voting, and not just "voting," but rabidly voting. i guess that's who he appeals to right?

anyway, have you noticed recently that american idol has gotten a lot more ambiguous about the results? i've been going to www.dialidol.com (not that i really believe their predictions, their idea works in theory, but really, there are way too many variables there for it to be a reliable measure, which it shouldn't be anyway because then what's the point of the show?), and according to them the contestants are really really close each week. but more than that, what i've noticed is that ryan seacrest never refers to anyone as having the lowest number of votes. when kristy lee cook got out (wow, does anyone still remember her?), ryan said america has decided that kristy "will leave us." and then when carly got out he said something similar. then tonight, he never even said that syesha and brooke were in the bottom two... he just said that the other three were safe (which doesn't mean they were the top three) and that either syesha or brooke were "out" (which doesn't mean that one of them got the lowest number of votes).

now i'm not completely calling it a conspiracy, because i really think that the producers of the show really have any reason to tamper with the results, the reality of the votes makes a storyline that you can't even make up, and that's the beauty of it. but i think that after 40-something million votes the viewers (and voters) deserve a little less ambiguity with the results, don't you think? well, that's still not gonna save brooke or carly or michael johns, but man what's gonna happen if the top three is david, david, and jason castro? or david, david, and syesha? well... it's gonna happen...

Syesha's going next.
For David Cook, I hope he doesn't win because he's too talented.
I hope David Archuleta wins, because I don't like him. He's too predictable and too boring.
I really feel that if he wins, he's going to join Reuben Studdard, Fantasia, Taylor Hicks and fade away from our memory.

so, my prediction:
4 - syesha
3- jason
2- David Cook
1- The boy that looks like a bat.

hmm... yeah i'd have to agree with you on the davids. i wouldn't want david cook to win and then have to make one of those pre-made albums, that would suck. but archuleta could absolutely do that and all the preteen girls and their mothers would eat it up. so yeah, david cook can be runner up and then sign his own record deal and do his own stuff. jason is gonna be in the top 3 because people like him for some reason that i can't find... every one i ask either really hates him or really likes him and i've found that it's about even with all the people i ask. don't know why though... maybe it's that vote for the worst thing, they were backing brooke for awhile but now that she's out i bet they're gonna target the stoner...
